Let’s demystify mental health support

How do I know if I need mental health support?

Stigma’s around therapy are beginning to fade, however it’s easy to still get caught up in the idea that therapy is only for those experiencing ‘bad enough’ symptoms and life experiences. There is no pre-qualifier for receiving mental health support, and simply having the desire to learn more about why you are who you are and gain tools and insight to navigate life more effectively is all that is necessary.

What will sessions be like?

Sessions are co-created, collaborative, and tailored to you and your goals. Using a combination of traditional talk therapy, somatic experiencing, and parts work, we will navigate the inner workings of you together. An utmost priority is placed on your sense of safety; within your body and within the therapeutic relationship, and you are encouraged to advocate for what feels approachable for you.

How often do I need to book sessions?

When beginning a therapeutic relationship, frequency and consistency are your biggest aids. Engaging in a standing weekly session allows for momentum to build, as well as rapport. When we engage in self-discovery work with flippancy or inconsistency, it can feel like we are re-starting each time. Planning on a standing session time also allows you and your body to rest into the predictability, which allows for a sense of safety around the work.

Can my insurance reimburse me?

At the end of each month, you will receive a super bill that you are then able to submit to your insurance company. If you want to know the reimbursement terms available to you prior to beginning sessions, please contact your insurance company directly and ask their policy on mental health service reimbursement.
